The Simple Answer Isn’t So Simple

Now that I have lost so much weight people come up to me and ask me how I did it. I always give them the simple answer, diet and exercise. Though that may be the simple answer, there is a lot that actually goes into that simple statement. I think that is where a lot of people get mystified and give up on the whole idea of losing weight.
Everyone knows that it takes diet and exercise, but to many, doing it seems too large of a hurdle to get over.
What I would like to do is break down what I did to lose weight.
Maybe it will encourage someone who has battled their weight issues to overcome it like I have.

If I can do it, so can you
I am not someone who once was fit and gained weight over time. I was overweight ever since I was a small child. For the longest time I thought I would be overweight forever.
For someone like me to be able to lose a hundred pounds should prove that it is possible for anyone to do it.
It is amazing the difference losing the extra weight makes you feel.
Never give up on an opportunity to lose weight
Don’t buy in to those who try to tell you that you look good with the extra weight. Your health is what is important. When the extra weight is a hundred pounds you are slowly killing yourself.
I feel twenty years younger now. My mobility and energy is incredible. I only wish I had lost the weight years ago.
Body shaming is a horrible thing to do to a person and I have had my share when it comes to receiving that kind of treatment. But I also have an issue with those that tell others to accept their plus size bodies and stop trying to lose weight. That kind of attitude is a destructive attitude.
If you take that attitude you are asking for trouble in the future when that weight starts affecting your health.
Your body can only take so much when it comes to being overweight. Conditions like high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes can be worsened by your extra weight.
Not only that but also the affects on your joints by carrying that extra weight will make your life miserable.
At my heaviest I was having trouble with stairs. My knees hurt so bad that I had to pull myself up the stairs by hanging onto the handrail.
Some of what I learned you may know. Other things some may think is unorthodox and not the healthiest option. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I just want to let you know what worked for me and encourage whoever needs the encouragement that you too can feel like a new person if you apply yourself to accomplish it.
The simple answer of diet and exercise may not seem simple, but it is possible. I’m living proof. You can be living proof too.
What is holding you back from losing the weight you need to lose? Let me know if it is something I can help you with?
